Rule 3.5. Small Claims Cases
Most litigants in small claims cases are not lawyers. When the court clerk gives a small claims litigant a date for a hearing, the litigant expects that the case will be heard on the date scheduled. A hearing date will not normally be postponed except for good cause shown.
As a general rule, a request for continuance of a small claim case will not be granted, unless all parties agree to the request.
