Rule 49. Use of Recording Devices and Official Record
The official record of any proceeding in the First Judicial District shall be derived and produced from either a transcription of an in person stenographic composition with the aid of normal and customary recording devices used by the Official Court Reporter or from a later transcription of the recording made by the FTR recording systems currently equipped in all courtrooms. No recording by any other device shall be allowed in any court proceeding, except when recorded by the Presiding Judge. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule, all proceedings involving a non-certified interpreter shall be recorded using the H2N Zoom recording devices equipped in each courtroom. The H2N Zoom recordings are available for purchase on a CD pursuant to Supreme Court Rule. Said H2N Zoom recordings are not of sufficient quality, and are not to be used for the preparation of an official transcript or official record of any proceeding.
