Rules of the Twenty-Third Judicial District [Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties]

OK 23 District Court Rule 4
Rule 4. Chief Judge
The Presiding Judge and Chief Judge shall serve dual roles in Pottawatomie County and Lincoln County.
The Chief Judge shall handle the following matters:
1. Transfers of cases to and from the CJ docket and the CF docket.
2. Motions for recusal of judge.
3. Applications for excuse from jury duty.
4. Motions to Confirm Sheriff's Sale of Real Property.
5. Election disputes requiring immediate action.
6. Upon a grand jury being called the Chief Judge shall have the responsibility to empanel and preside over the grand jury until it s dismissed.
7. Paupers' affidavits involving cases on the CJ docket.
8. Any other matter directed to the Chief Judge by statute or rule.
The Chief Judge shall be in charge of the jury panel and with the assistance of the Court Clerk, shall discharge and excuse those jurors not engaged when their services are no longer required.
