Rule 5. Continuances
No hearing of any kind in any type of case will be continued until:
a. There is a written request; and
b. The assigned Judge, (not the bailiff, the D.A., or opposing counsel) grants it.
A continuance requires documentation showing who wants the matter continued, why the request is made, and when the case will proceed hereafter. Merely calling the Court and leaving a message that a continuance has been agreed-to by all parties will NOT result in a continuance and is a willful violation of this Local Rule. The bailiff for the assigned Judge must immediately be notified of the Court's granting of the continuance by the party procuring the continuance.
