Rule 37. Trial Dockets
At the conclusion of the pretrial conference, the Judge shall direct either the case be set on the next jury or non-jury docket or on a day certain for trial.
The Judge shall endeavor to set all non-jury cases at the convenience of counsel, parties and the witnesses, in so far as the same is feasible and possible, but in setting of jury cases, primary consideration must be given the total number of persons affected, including the number of jurors involuntarily called to serve, and must set, conduct and dispose of jury cases in the most expeditious manner. Counsel shall note this policy and justify their requests accordingly, for the convenience of counsel, parties and/or witnesses must be secondary, if a choice need be made, to that of the entire jury panel.
No attorney shall request a civil case to be set on a jury call docket unless a pretrial conference order has been entered.
