Rule 6. Punctuality
a. Calendars. Attorneys shall have their business calendars with them when they appear in court to assure the efficient setting of court dates. Attorneys when obtaining a date are informing the court the date is available for their appearance and there are no conflicts that would prevent them from appearing at the date and time entered.
b. Appearances. Counsel and litigants shall be present at the time appointed for commencement of hearings or trials. Failure to timely appear without advance leave of the Court financially prejudices the opposing party, and detrimentally impacts the Courts ability to administer justice. Leaving a message that you expect to be late is not advance leave of Court to be late. The Court reserves the right to sanction any attorney for being late under any circumstance, in the interest of justice. Advising the Court you are available for hearing and thereafter scheduling another matter before another Court that consequently conflicts with your initial commitment is a per se willful violation and should result in sanction on your failure to appear.
