Rule 7. Areas of Judicial Responsibility
The District Judge shall designate the areas of initial judicial responsibility in Coal and Atoka Counties by a “Yearly Calendar” reflecting Docket dates for each Judge and beginning jury term dates. The “Yearly Calendar” is subject to modification and notice shall be given of any necessary modifications.
The Associate District Judges of Atoka and Coal Counties are assigned responsibility for the following cases filed in his/her county respectively:
The Atoka and Coal County Associate Judges shall rotate their Small Claims and Preliminary Hearing dockets as follows:
The Atoka County Associate District Judge is assigned to hear the first Small Claims Docket and first Preliminary Hearing Docket each month in Coal County. Likewise the Coal County Associate District Judge is assigned to hear the first Small Claims Docket each month in Atoka County and the first and third Preliminary Hearing Dockets in Atoka County each month.
All other cases are assigned to the District Judge.
For convenience, any judge may sign orders and notices which set cases previously arranged for hearing by the attorneys or parties before an assigned judge.
Warrants, Search Warrants and Bail Bonds may be signed or set by any Judge. The Court shall promulgate a weekend and night schedule for persons arrested without warrants. All arrest warrants shall contain a bond amount on its face. After Initial Appearance, all bond reduction requests must be made in writing to the Judge assigned therein.
