Eighteenth Judicial District Court Rule 2.3
Rule 2.3. Court Files
Original papers on file in the Court Clerk's office shall not be removed, subject to the following exceptions:
A. The Court Clerk or a deputy may transport files to and from Judge's chambers or courtrooms.
B. An attorney or member of Judge's staff may remove a file to the Judge's chambers or courtroom, provided that the Clerks' staff has knowledge of such removal.
C. The Chief Judge may make a blanket Order allowing one or more bonded abstractors to remove Court files.
No papers shall be inserted or removed from the file folders except by the Clerk or a deputy.
