Rule 24. Court Fund Claims on Court Appointments
Attorneys filing claims with the Court for services rendered on appointments shall include thereon the style of the case, detailed itemization of and the dates services were rendered, the working time required and the reasonable value of each service not to exceed Forty Dollars ($40.00) per hour at out-of-court billable time for service rendered and Sixty Dollars ($60.00) per hour billable time for in-court service rendered.
These rates shall be limited by any total amount allowed by statute or by administrative order unless the presiding Judge determines the work incurred was reasonable and necessary extraordinary work required for the effective assistance of counsel by the attorney filing the claim and for disposition of the case. After such claims are approved by the presiding Judge, the same shall be submitted to the District Judge prior to payment of the same by the Court Clerk. A submitted claim shall first be submitted to the presiding Judge for review and then to the Court Fund Board for allowance. Claims must be submitted in a timely manner. Any claim not submitted within 90 days of the performance of the services may be deemed void, and will not be paid. The contract system for representation in deprived and juvenile matters supersedes this rule as to those cases. Claims made are subject to reduction or denial based on budget issues.
