Rule 3. Continuances
In order for any case to be continued a Motion for Continuance and Order must be submitted to the assigned judge and the Order of Continuance must be signed by the judge. Simply submitting a Motion and announcing the other side has no objection does not grant a continuance. The Court is not bound by any agreement of counsel to continue a case. The requesting party must get approval from the assigned judge. The assigned judge may accept a faxed Motion to Continue and Order if a fax machine is available. In addition to other sanctions, failure to appear for a scheduled hearing may result in a contempt citation by the court.
