MUNICIPALITIES, SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS, AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATIONS

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is extending the grant application deadline for the Water Quality Improvement Projects (WQIP) Program until December 13, 2013. This extension applies statewide. The previous application deadline was November 8, 2013. Applications must be postmarked no later than December 13, 2013.

Municipalities, soil and water conservation districts, and not-for-profit corporations are eligible to apply for WQIP funding. A total of $45 million is available for projects including Non-agricultural Nonpoint, Wastewater Treatment Improvement, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and Aquatic Habitat Restoration.

Application materials for Water Quality Improvement Projects are available for download on DEC’s website at http: //www.dec.ny.gov/pubs/4774.html. Hardcopies of the application materials are also available by calling (518) 402-8267 if you are unable to download the documents. All project applications must be postmarked by December 13, 2013.
