Communication Devices for Daily Meter Reading for Gas Balancing Services
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The Commission is considering a tariff filing by Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RGE) to make various changes to the rates, charges, rules and regulations contained in its Schedule for Gas Service P.S.C. No. 16.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, sections 65 and 66
Subject:
Communication devices for daily meter reading for gas balancing services.
Purpose:
To allow for the installation of alternative communication devices used for daily meter reading for gas balancing services.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Public Service Commission is considering whether to approve, modify or reject, in whole or in part, a tariff filing by Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (the Company) to make revisions to its gas tariff schedule, P.S.C. No. 16, to allow for the installation of alternative communication devices used for daily meter reading for gas balancing services that are compatible with the Company’s Metretek equipment. Daily metered customers must currently install a dedicated telephone line to communicate with the Metretek equipment. The Company also proposes to revise the notification requirements of customer enrollment in conformance with the Uniform Business Practices. The amendments have an effective date of January 1, 2015.
