The New York State Department of State (DOS) is required by Federal regulations to provide timely public notice for the activities described below, which are subject to the consistency provisions of the Federal Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) of 1972, as amended.
The applicant has certified that the proposed activities comply with and will be conducted in a manner consistent with the federally approved New York State Coastal Management Program (NYSCMP). The applicant's consistency certification and accompanying public information and data are available for inspection at the New York State Department of State offices located at One Commerce Plaza, 99 Washington Avenue, in Albany, New York.
In F-2021-0818 the applicant, Goldsmith’s Boat Shop, Inc., is proposing to restore and stabilize a 57' x 394' portion of breakwater at mouth of commercial marina basin by raising elevation of breakwater 4' using approx. 1,800 cy of clean sandy fill and planting salt-tolerant native vegetation; stabilize south face of breakwater with 450' armor stone (1,095 cy) on filter cloth; stabilize north face of breakwater with 394' of stone rip-rap (approx. 150 cy); stabilize north, west, and east sides of raised breakwater with 497' of low-sill vinyl bulkhead (elevated +12" below MHW); and dredging 4,800 sf area north of bulkhead to depth of -2' MLW, using the approx. 240 cy sand/silt spoil and additional clean fill to backfill approx. 5,200 sf area and planting backfill area with approx. 5,200 sf of vegetated tidal marsh. This project is located at 64150 Main Road, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Inlet Channel from Southold Bay.

The New York State Department of State (DOS) is required by Federal regulations to provide timely public notice for the activities described below, which are subject to the consistency provisions of the Federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, as amended.
The applicant has certified that the proposed activity complies with and will be conducted in a manner consistent with the approved New York State Coastal Management Program.
In F-2021-0868, The Town of Sheridan, is proposing to install two 18 foot wide by 120 foot long heavy stone filled breakwaters parallel to the shoreline. The breakwaters would be ~4′ high and extend ~2′ above the Ordinary High Water elevation and be embedded ~18″ into the lake bed. Additional rock fill would be placed in the 23′4″ gap between the breakwaters to bring the area up to 573′ IGLD. The breakwaters would be placed generally between the 571′ and 573′ bathymetric contours. The project would require ~368 cubic yards of heavy stone fill. The proposed work would be conducted within the confines of a turbidity curtain.
The work is proposed for the Town of Sheridan owned Sheridan Bay Park located at 3193 Lake Shore Drive East on Lake Erie within the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua County.
The stated purpose of the proposed action is to “Reconstruct heavy stone fill breakwater that was damaged due to past storm events, and will help prevent/mitigate effects of future storm events.”

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has determined that the proposed activity will be undertaken in a manner consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the enforceable policies of the New York State Coastal Management Program. The applicant's consistency determination and accompanying supporting information and data are available for inspection at the New York State Department of State offices located at One Commerce Plaza, 99 Washington Avenue in Albany, New York.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Coast Survey plans to conduct hydrographic survey operations and transits within a 7191 square nautical mile area in the Great Lakes and Detroit River. The hydrographic survey operations will primarily occur within three project areas. These areas consist of an approximately 250 square nautical mile area in the vicinity of Cleveland, OH, an approximately 52 square nautical mile area in the Detroit River, and within an approximately 2041 square nautical mile area located near the proposed Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary. These projects will begin in or about April 2022 and end around October 2022. In addition, the crew will operate DriX, a 25′ Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), for continuous survey operations. The project areas will be surveyed using a combination of multibeam echo sounders and side scan sonar at frequencies of 70 kilohertz (kHz) or higher. A uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) may be deployed from the vessel and/or its launches for shoreline verification work.

The NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has determined that the proposed activity will be undertaken in a manner consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the enforceable policies of the New York State Coastal Management Program. Pursuant to the action requested by the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, NMFS would promulgate a new rule to implement Amendment 10 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Dolphin and Wahoo Fishery of the Atlantic (Dolphin Wahoo Amendment 10). Dolphin Wahoo Amendment 10 would revise the catch levels (acceptable biological catch and annual catch limits), sector allocations, accountability measures, and management measures for dolphin and wahoo. Management measures would address authorized gear and the operator card requirement in the dolphin and wahoo fishery, as well as the recreational vessel limit for dolphin. The purpose of Dolphin Wahoo Amendment 10 is to base conservation and management measures on the best scientific information available and increase net benefits to the Nation, consistent with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act and its National Standards.
