Rates for the Sale of Power and Energy
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
Decrease production rates.
Statutory authority:
Public Authorities Law, section 1005(6)
Subject:
Rates for the sale of power and energy.
Purpose:
To align rates and costs.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Power Authority of the State of New York (the “Authority”) proposes to decrease the production rates for Westchester County Governmental Customers (“Customers”). The Authority provides electricity to 103 Customers in Westchester County, including the County of Westchester, school districts, housing authorities, cities, towns and villages. Under the proposal, the 2013 production rates will decrease by 2.49% when compared with 2012 rates. The rate decrease reflects the continuing reduction in the cost of electricity purchased from the NYISO market to serve these customers as contained in the 2012 rates and is based on a pro forma Cost-of-Service for 2013. The new production rates will become effective with the January 2013 billing period.
