Clarification of Weather Normalization Adjustment Language
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The Commission is considering tariff amendments filed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. to clarify language regarding Weather Normalization Adjustments contained in General Information Section IX.1. (B), P.S.C. No. 9 — Gas.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, sections 65(1), 66(1), (12)(a) and (14)
Subject:
Clarification of Weather Normalization Adjustment language.
Purpose:
To consider clarification of Weather Normalization Adjustment language.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Public Service Commission (Commission) is considering a proposal filed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison or the Company), to clarify language in its gas tariff schedule, P.S.C. No. 9, regarding Weather Normalization Adjustments. Con Edison proposes revisions to its tariff to General Information Section IX.1. (B) to explicitly state that only the weather normalization factors for the 21 billing cycles will be filed each month with the Public Service Commission. The proposed amendments have an effective date of December 1, 2017. The full text of the proposal may be reviewed online at the Department of Public Service web page: www.dps.ny.gov. The Commission may adopt, reject or modify, in whole or in part, the relief proposed and may resolve related matters.
