Dishonored Payments
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The Commission is considering a proposed tariff filing by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation to make various changes in its rates, charges, rules and regulations contained in its Schedule for Electric Service—PSC No. 15.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, section 66(12)
Subject:
Dishonored Payments.
Purpose:
To revise the dishonored payment fee.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Commission is considering whether to approve, modify or reject, in whole or in part, a tariff filing by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation (Central Hudson or the Company) to revise the Company’s dishonored payment fee for customers who submit negotiable instruments that are subsequently dishonored or deemed uncollectible. The Company proposes to increase the maximum dishonored payment fee from a total of $10.00 per such instrument to a total of $25.00 per such instrument. The proposed filing has an effective date of June 1, 2011.
