Pursuant to provisions of the Abandoned Property Law and related laws, the Office of the State Comptroller receives unclaimed monies and other property deemed abandoned. Annual Notice of Public Meeting Concerning Internet Safety In OCFS Juvenile Justice Facilities:
OCFS will be holding a meeting to consider comments about its computer use procedures, Internet safety guidelines and technology protection measures for youth in its custody in juvenile justice facilities. The meeting will be on October 13, 2010, 3:00 p.m. at Room 121 North Bldg, 52 Washington Street, Rensselaer, NY. Department of Environmental Conservatioin
Pursuant to Environmental Conservation Law sections, 1-0101.1, 3-0301.1.j and 9-1303 the Department of Environmental Conservation hereby gives notice of the following:
Title: NYS DEC Implements Quarantine Orders to Prevent Spread of Emerald Ash Borer
Project Locations: All towns in the following counties: Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee Wyoming, Allegany, Monroe, Livingston, Steuben, Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Schuyler, Chemung, Greene and Ulster.
Project Description: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is establishing two quarantine areas comprising Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Monroe, Livingston, Steuben, Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Schuyler and Chemung Counties; and Greene and Ulster Counties, in order to limit the potential introduction of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), a tree-killing beetle, beyond its initial detection in 2009, in Cattaraugus County, and 2010 detections in Steuben, Livingston, Monroe, Genesee, Ulster and Greene Counties, to other areas of the state.
DEC’s quarantine order will prohibit the movement of ash nursery stock, ash trees, and ash wood products, and firewood, wood chips and bark mulch from any tree species, as well as the insects themselves within and beyond the quarantine district without certification or compliance agreements from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, or the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (APHIS), in addition to other provisions as defined in the order.

Town of Massena
The Town of Massena is requesting proposals from qualified administrative services agencies, and/or financial organizations relating to administration, trustee services and/or funding of a deferred compensation plan for employees of The Town of Massena meeting the requirements of Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 5 of the State Finance Law, including all rules and regulations issued pursuant thereto.

Department of State F-2010-0780 (DA) Date of Issuance - September 22, 2010
The New York State Department of State (DOS) is required by Federal regulations to provide timely public notice for the activities described below, which are subject to the consistency provisions of the Federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, as amended.
The United States Department of the Interior, Army Corps of Engineers - New York District has determined that the proposed activity complies with and will be conducted in a manner consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the approved New York State Coastal Management Program. The consistency determination and accompanying public information and data is available for inspection at the New York State Department of State offices located at One Commerce Plaza, 99 Washington Avenue in Albany, New York.
In F-2010-0780 DA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New York District, is proposing to perform maintenance dredging of the existing federal navigation channel known as the South Brother Island Channel Reach of the East River, Borough of Queens, Queens County.
The proposal involves the maintenance dredging of the 35 ft. deep (with an allowable 2 ft. overdepth) and 400 ft. wide channel, with widening at the junction with the main channel, and a turning basin at the head of the channel, for a total length of 1.3 miles. The proposal as described, will remove approximately 300,000 cubic yards of material to be placed at the Historic Area remediation Site (HARS). The dredging and material placement at the HARS is anticipated to be completed this fall and winter.
Any interested parties and/or agencies desiring to express their views concerning the above proposed activities may do so by filing their comments, in writing, no later than 4:30 p.m., 15 days from the date of publication of this notice, or, October 7, 2010.
