Crime Analysis Centers
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) for the availability of funding to provide continued support for currently funded crime analyst positions assigned to the county Crime Analysis Centers in Albany, Erie, Monroe, and Onondaga Counties. Approximately $1 million will be available. The RFA is available on the DCJS website at http://www.criminaljustice.state.ny.us/ofpa/newrfp.htm. DCJS will receive applications starting May 14, 2010; applications must be submitted by noon on June 4, 2010.

Local Reentry Task Forces and Enhanced Services Program (2010 - 2011)
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) to solicit applications for awards for two purposes: 1) to support the continuation of local reentry task forces to enhance the community's reentry process and better align it with evidence-based practices and 2) to provide support or continued support for contracted services to reentry clients that contribute to effective risk management by addressing, first and foremost, their criminogenic needs as well as their stabilization and survival needs (e.g. housing and public benefits) as appropriate.
Subject to State appropriation authority, approximately $3.6 million in State local assistance funds is available for awards to: Broome, Dutchess, Erie, Monroe, Nassau, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Orange, Rensselaer, Rockland, Schenectady, Suffolk, and Westchester counties; the New York City Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator, and the Kings County District Attorney's Office. Grant award agreements will be for a twelve month period with start dates between July 1, 2010 and October 1, 2010.
Applications received on or before 12:00 noon (EST), June 15, 2010 via DCJS' on-line Grants Management System (GMS) will be accepted.

NYS Community Development Block Grant (NYS CDBG) Community Planning Program
The New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation's Office of Community Renewal (OCR) announces the availability of approximately $1,000,000 in funding for the NYS Community Development Block Grant (NYS CDBG) Community Planning Program. Eligible non-entitlement cities, towns, villages, and counties in New York State are invited to submit an application for up to $40,000.
The NYS CDBG Community Planning Program (Program) provides an opportunity for eligible units of local governments to obtain funding for the development of a wide range of community development planning instruments (Plan). The Plan must identify and prioritize community and/or economic development challenges and needs and help communities develop clear and actionable strategies for addressing them. Additionally, the Program seeks to assist eligible local governments improve the quality of community or economic development projects, identify eligible NYS CDBG projects, and prepare applications for future NYS CDBG funding.
Applications must be submitted to the address by 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2010 or postmarked no later than the deadline: Office of Community Renewal, at the above address.

MUNICIPALITIES AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH AN OWNERSHIP INTEREST IN THE PROPERTY
Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993
Municipalities and not-for profit organizations with an ownership interest in the property may apply for funds under Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993 for the acquisition, development and improvement of parks, historic properties and heritage areas, and for the planning of such projects. Competitive applications to receive aid are required and will be accepted through July 12, 2010 for grants made available under these programs.
This is a matching grant program, therefore grant recipients will be expected to provide at least 50 percent match to these awards, unless the project is in a location with a poverty rate (according to the 2000 census) of ten percent or higher, in which case grant recipients must provide a minimum of 25 percent match.
