Interconnection of the Networks between WVT and Verizon Wireless for Local Exchange Service and Exchange Access
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The PSC is considering whether to approve or reject a proposal filed by Warwick Valley Telephone Company (WVT) for approval of an Interconnection Agreement with Verizon Wireless executed on December 15, 2008.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, section 94(2)
Subject:
Interconnection of the networks between WVT and Verizon Wireless for local exchange service and exchange access.
Purpose:
To review the terms and conditions of the negotiated agreement between WVT and Verizon Wireless.
Substance of proposed rule:
Warwick Valley Telephone Company and Verizon Wireless have reached a negotiated agreement whereby Warwick Valley Telephone Company and Verizon Wireless will interconnect their networks at mutually agreed upon points of interconnection to provide Telephone Exchange Services and Exchange Access to their respective customers. The Agreement establishes obligations, terms and conditions under which the parties will interconnect their network lasting until December 15, 2010, or as extended.
