Con Edison's Proposed Modifications to P.S.C. No. 9 - Electricity
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The Commission is considering whether to approve, deny, or modify, in whole or in part, a proposal filed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) to modify its tariff schedule for electricity service, P.S.C. No. 9 - Electricity.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, sections 5(1)(b), 65(1), 66(1), and (12)
Subject:
Con Edison's proposed modifications to P.S.C. No. 9 - Electricity.
Purpose:
Whether and to what extent the Commission should approve Con Edison's proposed modifications to P.S.C. No. 9 - Electricity.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Commission is considering whether to approve, deny, or modify, in whole or in part, a proposal filed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) dated December 17, 2008 to modify the charges, rules, and regulations contained in its tariff schedule for electricity service, P.S.C. No. 9 - Electricity, effective March 16, 2009. Con Edison is proposing changes to Rider U, its Distribution Load Relief Program, intended to maximize potential participation, improve verification of performance, establish different summer reservation payments based on verification methodology, and reorganize and clarify tariff provisions. The Commission will consider the proposed changes in the context of the Company's long range plans for development of demand response resources.
