Any miscellaneous information you feel might assist the readers in determining whether or not they should request an application for this particular grant. The CCR&R agencies represent a critical link between the State's efforts to oversee and strengthen the child care system and provide quality child care services to New York State's families. The RFP seeks proposals for the provision of CCR&R services on a per county basis only for the following counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, St. Lawrence, Schoharie, and Wyoming counties. All bids will require an individual proposal for each county to be served. The contract format will be in a performance-based structure to establish reasonable level of services for the CCR&R services. A CCR&R agency may be selected to cover one or more counties.

County Reentry Task Forces and Enhanced Services Program (2008 – 2009)
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) to solicit applications for awards for two purposes: 1) to support the establishment or continuation of county reentry task forces to coordinate and strengthen the community response to high-risk offenders transitioning from prison back to the community; and 2) to provide support or continued support for contracted services to high-risk offenders that address housing, employment, education, family support and reunification, substance abuse, mental and physical health, and other transitional needs.
Subject to State appropriation authority, approximately $3.8 million in State local assistance funds is available for awards to Albany, Dutchess, Erie, Monroe, Nassau, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Orange, Rensselaer, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester counties. Grant award agreements will be for a twelve to eighteen month period with starting dates between July 1, 2008 and January 1, 2009.

The New York State Department of Health's AIDS Institute and The United Way of New York City announce the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) to award funds to enhance the provision of and access to individual and family-centered case management and supportive services for HIV-infected women residing in the boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.
Through this RFA, the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute and the United Way of New York City propose to support on-site case management services offered in coordination with supportive services to promote access to and retention in care for HIV-infected women by:
• Promoting greater access by HIV-infected women to a full range of clinical, mental health and social services to improve their well-being and the overall quality of life for themselves and their families;
• Enabling HIV-infected women to attend to their health and social service needs through the utilization of case management and a variety of supportive services;
• Supporting interventions and services that address the unique needs of HIV-infected women.
Applications will be accepted from not for profit 501 c(3) community-based human service organizations, drug treatment programs and/or Article 28 facilities serving the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens or Staten Island.

CURRENT RECIPIENTS OF HESC NYGEAR UP GRANTS
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP)
The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) is the state's Lead Agency for the state-level Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEARUP). NYGEAR UP is funded through a federal grant awarded to HESC by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). GEAR UP is an early intervention and college awareness program that encourages eligible low-income students to graduate from high school, prepare for, and graduate from college. HESC was awarded an initial GEAR UP grant for multiple years beginning in 1999 and has been awarded a second GEAR UP grant for the period of September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2011. Program evaluation is a U.S. Department of Education (ED) requirement.
HESC made awards to eleven (11) sub-grantees that represent a total of eleven (11) project sites that directly administer the program to eligible students. In addition, HESC made awards to six (6) state partners that provide support services to the sub-grantee project sites and students.
HESC will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to current HESC NYGEAR UP recipients to submit proposals for supplemental awards for the 2008-2011 award years to supplement existing HESC NYGEAR UP projects. Only current recipients of HESC NYGEAR UP grants are eligible to apply for these supplemental grants.
