The applicant has certified that the proposed activity complies with and will be conducted in a manner consistent with the approved New York State Coastal Management Program. In F-2022-0309 or the “Hempstead Bay - Hassocks Restoration Project”, the applicant – Nassau County Department of Public Works – proposes the removal of abandoned sewage infrastructure and restoration of deteriorated marsh habitat. Additional low marsh habitat would be created behind an existing bulkhead at Pearsalls Hassock, and mosquito ditches on South Black Banks Hassock would be strategically filled to improve tidal hydrology and facilitate marsh resiliency. The project includes the following components:
• Pearsalls Hassock: Demolition of a former sludge loading dock and associated inland infrastructure related to historic sludge storage (i.e., sludge tanks, control stmctures, generator building) on Pearsalls Hassock. This component also includes stabilization of failing shoreline banks and restoration of native habitats, including a fringe low marsh habitat behind an existing bulkhead. All disturbed vegetated areas will be restored with native maritime plant species. Hereafter, this component is refen-ed to as the Pea.rsalls Restoration.
• South Black Banks Hassock: Ditch remediation and targeted runnel construction i11 an area of dense mosquito ditches on South Black Banks Hassock to promote the natural resiliency of this sensitive tidal marsh habitat to future sea level rise. Hereafter, this project is referred to as the South Black Banks Restoration.
The proposed project will take place on Pearsalls Hassock, South Black Banks Hassock and low lying salt marsh island situated in West Hempstead Bay in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County Channel. The purpose of this project is to restore historic site conditions within the Western Bays to enhance the ecological functions and services of this tidal estuary. The project is part of a transformative environmental and water quality initiative known as the Western Bays Resiliency Initiative, which aims to enrich the Western Bays as a recreational, economic, social, and environmental resource to Long Island and the State of New York.

In F-2021-0572, Waterways at Bay Pointe Homeowners Association is proposing to restore a total of approx. 0 53 acres in the tidal wetland and approx. 0.28 acres in the wetland adjacent area. The area is dominated by invasive Common reed (Phragmites australis) and Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica). The invasive, non-native plants will be cut, sprayed with herbicide and removed and the area will be restored by replanting with native herbaceous plugs and shrubs at 520 Bay Point Drive.

In F-2022-0584, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (d/b National Grid), is proposing construction activities associated with the National Grid Maplewood-Menands #19 and Maplewood-Reynolds #31 115kV Lines Reconductoring Project located in Albany County, New York. The Project includes the removal and replacement of existing assets for an overall line conductor clearance to meet National Electric Safety Code (NESC). The Project involves minor maintenance at multiple structures, the replacement of seventeen (17) structures, and the full removal of three (3) structures. Additionally, a new switch structure, Structure 3A, on the Maplewood-Riverside transmission line and associated permanent access road will be installed. Existing gravel access roads that may require additional stone will be used throughout the project. The installation of one (1) new access road to access the new switch structure will also be needed. No tree clearing is anticipated to be required for this Project, only minor brush clearing. Structures to be replaced will be in-kind, at the same location of the previously located structure. Steel pole structures will be installed by the hole being augured to about 10-feet deep, and excavated soils will be segregated and stored on site. Once the pole is installed the excavated material will be backfilled around the structure. No additional fill will be needed for the installation of the structures.
The Project will include approximately 1,401.7-feet of new access road to proposed Structure 3A off Simmons Lane in the Village of Menands, this will result in +/-21,305-sq ft (0.49-ac) of fill and grading in the regulated 100-ft upland adjacent area, and +/-1,377-sq ft (0.03-ac) of permanent fill to Fisher Wetland 001 (NYSDEC TS-9). Arcadis Wetland 007 (TS-7 and TS-9) will also incur +/-940-sq ft (0.02-ac) of permanent fill due to structure foundations.
The stated purpose of the proposed action is to provide system reliability to electric utility end users. This Project is necessary to improve clearance spans and upgrade structures on the Maplewood-Menands #19 and Maplewood-Reynolds #31 Line, to bring spans to applicable code standards and permit requirements, in order to continue to operate the Line at a maximum operating temperature of 125ºC.

In F-2022-0605, Rochester Yacht Club is proposing to remove existing fixed docks and replace them with floating docks. The new docks would generally be in the same location and configuration as the existing docks. Five additional docks would be installed where docks do not currently exist. The floating docks would be supported by 44 new 5″ steel pipe piles. The three new main docks would be accessed by new ramps with landing platforms (two would be 10′ x 25′ and the third would be 10′ x 20′. The docks would include power pedestals and water hookups. The total over the water square footage of the docks would be 7,460 sq ft and would include 51 slips.
The proposal is for the Rochester Yacht Club located on east shore of the Genesee River in the Town of Irondequoit, Monroe County.
The stated purpose of the proposed action is to better accommodate rising and falling lake levels.

Catwalk and dock would be supported by piles. Create a 4′ x 135′ gravel path through wetland buffer area. Dredge a 300′ x 50′ x -2′ MLW area resulting in up to 1,200 cy of dredged material which would be placed in the 50′ wide buffer area landward of the tidal wetland boundary. Dredged material would be capped with an additional 3″ of topsoil.
The proposal is for the applicant’s property located on Corey Creek at 9326 Main Bayview Road in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County.
The stated purpose of the proposed action is to provide recreational boating access, improve landscape conditions and upland access to the water.
