PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
Proposed Action:
The Public Service Commission is considering examining the New York State natural gas local distribution companies' (LDCs) performance and performance measures.
Statutory authority:
Public Service Law, sections 65 and 66
Subject:
To examine LDC's performance and performance measures.
Purpose:
To improve gas safety performance.
Substance of proposed rule:
The Public Service Commission initiated Case 14-G-0176 to examine the New York State natural gas local distribution companies' (LDCs) performance in three areas pertaining to safety: damage prevention, emergency response, and leak management, and require LDCs to identify and outline incremental efforts to improve gas safety performance in the future.
