WPIC 49C.14 In the Community—Definition
In the community means residing outside of confinement or incarceration for a disqualifying offense.
NOTE ON USE
Use this instruction only when a factual issue makes it necessary to define this term for the jury.

RCW 9A.44.128(6).
This instruction uses the statutory language verbatim. If it would aid the jury's understanding, it may be useful to use an alternative formulation, such as: “A person is deemed to be in the community if he or she is incarcerated or confined for an offense that is not a disqualifying offense,” or “A person is not in the community if he or she is incarcerated or confined for a disqualifying offense.”
