WPIC CHAPTER 39A. Human Trafficking
WPIC 39A.03 Human Trafficking—Second Degree—Definition
A person commits the crime of trafficking in the second degree when he or she
[engages in trafficking]
[benefits financially or receives anything of value from [knowingly] participating in a venture that engaged in trafficking].
NOTE ON USE
Use this instruction if it is necessary to define the offense of trafficking in the second degree for the jury.

RCW 9A.40.100(3).
For clarity, the WPI Committee has titled the instructions in this chapter as “human” trafficking, as there are a number of other offenses that use the term “trafficking.” See, e.g., RCW Chapter 9A.52. The Legislature simply used the word “trafficking” in the statute and the instructions are written to track the statutory language.
