WPIC CHAPTER 70. Theft
WPIC 70.15 Theft—First Degree—Public Assistance Fraud—Definition
A person commits theft in the first degree when he or she [obtains] [or] [attempts to obtain] [or] [aids another person to obtain] public assistance to which the [defendant] [other person] is not entitled or greater public assistance than that to which the [defendant] [other person] is justly entitled by means of [a willfully false statement or representation [or impersonation]] [or] [a willful failure to reveal a material fact, condition or circumstance affecting eligibility or need for assistance] [or] [a willful failure to promptly notify the county office of public assistance in writing of a change in status or circumstance affecting eligibility or need for assistance] [or] [[a] [other] fraudulent device].
