WPIC 2.16 Peace Officer—Definition
Peace officer means a duly appointed city, county, or state law enforcement officer.
NOTE ON USE
Use this instruction to define peace officer for crimes under RCW Chapter 9A.76. Also see WPIC 120.00 (Obstructing Governmental Operation).
Do not use this instruction to define officer, public officer, or public servant. Those terms have their own statutory definitions. See WPIC 2.14 (Officer—Public Officer—Definition) and WPIC 2.22 (Public Servant—Definition).
