WPIC CHAPTER 120. Obstructing Governmental Operation
WPIC 120.01 Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer—Definition
A person commits the crime of obstructing a law enforcement officer when he or she willfully hinders, delays, or obstructs any law enforcement officer in the discharge of the law enforcement officer's official powers or duties.
NOTE ON USE
Use this instruction if it will help the jury understand the charged offense or if it is necessary to define this particular offense for the jury. See the Comment to WPIC 4.24 (Definition of the Crime—Form).
With this instruction use WPIC 120.02.01 (Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer—Willfully—Definition) and WPIC 10.02 (Knowledge—Knowingly—Definition).
For cases involving giving a false or misleading statement to a law enforcement officer, use WPIC 120.03 (Making a False or Misleading Statement to a Public Servant—Definition) instead of this instruction.
