§ 5872. Powers of sheriffs vested in county treasurers
The several powers vested in and duties enjoined on the respective sheriffs, by the act to which this is a supplement,1 shall be transferred to and performed by the county treasurers respectively, under the same obligations and restrictions to which the said sheriffs are by law subjected, and the sales to be by them made in consequence of the transfer aforesaid shall be as valid in law as sales made by the sheriffs aforesaid, and so much of any law as is hereby altered or supplied, be and the same is hereby repealed.
