§ 1301.28a. Interdepartmental cooperation
(a) The head of any department, board, commission, agency or instrumentality of the Commonwealth shall, unless otherwise prohibited by law, disclose to the State Treasurer the last known address of individuals listed in the Treasury Department's records as owners of unclaimed property.
(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a), section 7311 of this act and sections 274, 353(f) and 408(b)2 of the act of March 4, 1971 (P.L. 6, No. 2), known as the “Tax Reform Code of 1971,” the Department of Revenue shall disclose to the State Treasurer the last known address of individuals listed in the Treasury Department's records as owners of unclaimed property.
(c) Upon receipt of the information referred to in subsections (a) and (b), the Treasury Department shall keep the information confidential and shall use it solely to assist in the process of returning unclaimed property to its rightful owner.
