§ 5020-310. Penalty for refusing to serve; exception
If any elected assessor refuses to serve he shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty dollars, to be recovered before a justice of the peace or alderman, at the suit of the commissioners, as debts of similar amount are now recoverable: Provided, That no person who shall have served as collector or assessor shall be appointed or chosen for a second term without his consent for the term of ten years.
