§ 583-1. Definitions (Adm. Code § 2201-C)
The following words and phrases when used in this article shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
“Board.” The PennSERVE Advisory Board established under section 2206-C.1
“Community service.” The performance of tasks designated to accomplish any of the following:
“Community-based agency.” A private, nonprofit organization that is representative of a community or a significant segment of a community that is engaged in meeting human, educational or environmental community needs.
“Department.” The Department of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth.
“National and Community Service Act of 1990.” The National and Community Service Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-610, 104 Stat. 3127),2 as amended.
“Office.” The PennSERVE Office within the department established under section 2202-C.3
