§ 1500. Towns authorized to secure lands
All incorporated towns in this Commonwealth are hereby authorized and empowered to acquire, by lease, purchase or condemnation, any land, lying either within or without the limits of such incorporated towns, which, in the judgment of the corporate authorities thereof, may be necessary and desirable for the purpose of establishing and maintaining municipal airports, airdromes, aviation landing fields, intermediate landing fields and airport facilities.
The proceedings for the condemnation of lands including the acquisition of title and possession, and for the assessment of damages for property taken, injured or destroyed, shall be conducted in accordance with the act of June 22, 1964 (P.L. 84), known as the “Eminent Domain Code.”1
