§ 1330.2. Definitions
The following words and phrases when used in this act shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
“Antique boiler.” Any closed vessel, manufactured prior to January 1, 1955, and used solely for display and demonstration purposes, in which water is heated or steam is superheated, under pressure or vacuum, for external use, by the direct application of heat from the combustion of fuels or from electricity. The term includes fired vessels, manufactured prior to January 1, 1955, and used solely for display and demonstration purposes, in which liquids other than water are heated or vaporized, where those vessels are separate from processing systems and are complete within themselves. The term also includes replicas and reproductions of such closed vessels or fired vessels, regardless of the date of construction, where the replica or reproduction is used solely for display and demonstration purposes.
“Approved.” Accepted by the department.
“ASME.” The American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
“Department.” The Department of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth.
“Inspector.” An inspector commissioned by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to inspect boilers or unfired pressure vessels.
“Person.” Any individual, firm, partnership, unincorporated association, corporation or municipality. The term includes the Commonwealth.
