§ 721.4. Powers and duties of Environmental Quality Board
(a) Board to establish standards, rules and regulations.--The Environmental Quality Board1 shall have the power and its duty shall be to adopt such rules and regulations of the department, governing the provision of drinking water to the public, as it deems necessary for the implementation of the provisions of this act. The board shall adopt maximum contaminant levels and treatment technique requirements no less stringent than those promulgated under the Federal act for all contaminants regulated under the national primary and secondary drinking water regulations. The board may adopt maximum contaminant levels or treatment technique requirements for any contaminant that a maximum contaminant level or treatment technique requirement has not been promulgated under the national primary and secondary drinking water regulations.
