§ 891. State employes
Notwithstanding any other provisions of this act, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and all its departments, bureaus, boards, agencies, commissions and authorities shall be deemed to be an employer and services performed in the employ of the Commonwealth and all its departments, bureaus, boards, agencies, commissions and authorities shall be deemed to constitute State employment subject to this act with the exceptions hereinafter set forth in section 1002.1 Except as herein provided, all other provisions of this act shall continue to be applicable in connection herewith.
The term “authorities” as used in this section means those authorities instituted as separate governmental entities at the State Government level, the governing boards of which are Commonwealth officials or their appointees.
