§ 7-786. Joint action of districts
With the approval of the Department of Public Instruction1 any two or more school districts may (1) jointly enter into contracts and leases with the State Public School Building Authority for the construction or improvement of a school building and the furnishings and equipment thereof for the joint use of school districts, and may (2) either jointly or individually convey or lease, as hereinbefore provided, to the Authority, any lands and improvements now owned or hereafter acquired by any one or more of such school districts, and may (3) jointly acquire title to additional lands or interests in land, as hereinbefore provided.
The sharing of the cost of such land and improvements and of the rental or rentals payable to the Authority and the maintenance, government and control of the school shall be agreed upon by the boards of directors of such districts so joining, in such manner and in such proportions as they may agree upon. All schools established under the provisions of this section shall be maintained, governed and controlled as other public schools under the laws of this Commonwealth.
