§ 1-115. Optometric externs
(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of section 6 of the act of June 6, 1980 (P.L. 197, No. 57),1 known as the “Optometric Practice and Licensure Act,” an optometric extern who is performing procedures and tests for the sole purpose of clinical instruction and experience under the direct supervision of a licensed health care professional in this Commonwealth shall be defined as a student enrolled in an accredited school or college of optometry in the United States.
