§ 2584. Pennsylvania State College to receive appropriations under Act of Congress of 1928
Whereas, An act of Congress, approved May twenty-second, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, providing for cooperative agricultural extension work between the agricultural colleges in the several States, receiving the benefits of an act of Congress, approved July second, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, commonly known as the Land Grant Act, and an act of Congress, approved May eighth, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, known as the Smith-Lever Act, and of acts supplementary thereto, and the United States Department of Agriculture, requires the States receiving the benefits of said act to signify their assent to the same, and the Governor of the Commonwealth having already signified the assent of this State to the purposes and conditions thereof, pending the action of the State Legislature thereof, therefore:
The assent of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hereby given to said act of Congress approved May twenty-second, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight,1 entitled “An act to provide for further development of agricultural extension work between the agricultural colleges in the several States receiving the benefits of the act, entitled ‘An act donating public lands to the several States and Territories which may provide colleges for the benefit of agriculture and the mechanic arts,’ approved July 2, 1862, and all acts supplementary thereto, and the United States Department of Agriculture,” with all its provisions and conditions, and the Pennsylvania State College is hereby designated as the proper institution to receive all appropriations made, or to be made, by Congress for the purpose of carrying into effect said act, or any supplement or supplements thereto, and that the treasurer or other officer, duly appointed by the governing board of said college, be designated as the proper officer to receive all appropriations made under the provisions of said act.
