§ 4420. Discharge by department
The department may review any commitment made under this act other than a criminal commitment and the secretary may order the discharge of any person so committed whenever he finds that such committed person is no longer in need of care and treatment in a facility. The department may also review criminal commitments and the secretary may make recommendation to the court which committed such person that he be discharged or returned to a penal or correctional institution.
