§ 5703.102. Definitions
The following words and phrases when used in this act shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
“Clinical breast examination.” A breast examination performed by a health care professional for the purpose of detecting breast cancer.
“Department.” The Department of Health of the Commonwealth.
“Papanicolaou test” or “Pap test.” A microscopic examination of cells scraped from the cervix.
“Pelvic examination.” A physical examination of the uterus, vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder and rectum.
“Program.” The Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Screening Program established in section 3.1
“Screening mammogram.” A radiologic procedure furnished to an asymptomatic woman for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer. The term includes a physician's interpretation of the results of such procedure.
