§ 1161. Acquisition of area authorized
For the purpose of preserving and perpetuating the unparalleled beauty of the several glens which converge and from1 Rickett's Glen, likewise known as Kitchen Creek, and the surrounding area thereof, all of said area being located in Luzerne, Sullivan and Wyoming Counties, and for the further purpose of enjoyment of the same by the general public, the Department of Forests and Waters2 is hereby authorized to acquire, in the name of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the area hereinabove generally described, or any portion or portions thereof, determined by the department to be necessary, the same to be laid out, preserved and maintained as a State Park.
