§ 679.203. Relationship of flood plain management regulations to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code and other applicable enabling legislation
The adoption and administration by municipalities of flood plain management regulations, or amendments thereto, which are necessary to comply with the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program1 shall be governed by the provisions of the act of July 31, 1968 (P.L. 805, No. 247), known as the “Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code,”2 or other applicable enabling legislation; provided, that a municipality may adopt flood plain management regulations for the flood plain without adopting ordinances, codes or regulations for any other area of the municipality, notwithstanding any provision of the Municipalities Planning Code or other applicable enabling legislation.
