63 P.S. § 1920.2
§ 1920.2. Referral
Licensees under this act shall refer health care problems which fall outside the boundaries of their professional competence and scope of practice as defined in section 31 to appropriate licensed practitioners. Such health care problems include mental health care problems which there is reason to believe are biologically based and individuals who are in a suicidal or psychotic state. Nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing any licensee under this act to engage in the practice of psychology as defined in the act of March 23, 1972 (P.L. 136, No. 52),2 known as the Professional Psychologists Practice Act; the practice of medicine as defined in the act of December 20, 1985 (P.L. 457, No. 112),3 known as the Medical Practice Act of 1985; or the practice of osteopathic medicine as defined in the act of October 5, 1978 (P.L. 1109, No. 261),4 known as the Osteopathic Medical Practice Act.
