§ 591. Powers and duties in general (Adm. Code § 2301)
The Department of Public Welfare shall, subject to any inconsistent provisions in this act contained, continue to exercise the powers and perform the duties by law vested in and imposed upon the said department, the Secretary of Public Welfare, and the former Department of Public Welfare, and Commissioner of Public Welfare, and the former Department of Welfare.
