§ 79. Resignation and reappointment
Any public officer within the meaning of such term as used in Article III, section 27, of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who resigns from office shall be ineligible for reappointment to that office during the remainder of the term for which he was appointed or for a period of one year, whichever is less, if such reappointment would increase his salary or emoluments. However, nothing contained in this act shall prevent such an officer from being reappointed to the same office from which he resigned if such reappointment does not result in a higher salary obtaining than such person received at the date of his resignation.
