§ 32. Secretary of the Senate; qualifications; duties; term; duties of other officers and employes
The Secretary of the Senate shall be well qualified by experience, and have a thorough knowledge of parliamentary practice and legislative procedure. He shall act as the disbursing officer of the salaries of the Senators, officers, and employes of the Senate, and perform such other duties as may be required by the President of the Senate or the Senate; and he shall continue in office, at the regular session of the Senate following that at which elected, for the period of ten days, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. All other officers and employes herein authorized shall perform the duties and requirements of similar officers and employes, as authorized by the act of April twelfth, one thousand nine hundred and five.1
