§ 983. Shipping of young live pigeons for market prohibited
It shall be unlawful for any person, copartnership, or corporation, being the owner, or any of his or its agents or employés, to ship, transport, or convey, or to sell for shipment, transportation, or conveyance, any live pigeon for market, less than six weeks of age. Any person, copartnership, or corporation violating the provisions of this act, shall, upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding before a magistrate, alderman, or justice of the peace, be sentenced to pay a fine of ten dollars, and, in default of the payment of such fine and costs, shall be imprisoned one day for each dollar of fine and costs unpaid.
