1. A period is hereby designated for observance annually as “See Pennsylvania's Covered Bridges” Week, beginning on the first Saturday after the first Sunday in May, to and including the third Sunday of that month.

2. The Governor shall issue, annually, his Proclamation designating and setting apart this period, calling upon historical societies, tourist groups and political subdivisions of the Commonwealth to support and promote interest in the preservation of the historic covered bridges at both the county and State level.
