§ 1720-M. Pennsylvania Race Horse Development Restricted Receipts Account
<Section 17(2) of Act 2020, Nov. 23, P.L. 1140, No. 114, imd. effective, provides that the amendment of Article XVII-M by that Act shall apply retroactively to July 1, 2020.>
The following apply to amounts appropriated from the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development Restricted Receipts Account:
(1) The following apply to amounts appropriated to the Department of Agriculture for payments to Pennsylvania fairs:
(i) Notwithstanding any provision of the act of July 8, 1986 (P.L. 437, No. 92),1 known as the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Act, the Department of Agriculture shall award a grant for the calendar year beginning January 1, 2020, to a county agricultural society, an independent agricultural society or other organization which conducted its annual agricultural fair in the calendar year beginning January 1, 2019. A county agricultural society, an independent agricultural society or other organization which receives a grant under this subparagraph shall remain eligible to apply for and receive a grant available under section 5(1)(ii) of the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Act.2
(ii) The amount of a grant awarded to a county agricultural society, an independent agricultural society or other organization under this paragraph shall be the same amount that the county agricultural society, independent agricultural society or other organization received in grants under section 5(1)(i), (iii) and (iv) of the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Act for the calendar year beginning January 1, 2019.
